The Ugly Dog Pub

Owners Kay and Thomas Craig were looking for ways to work through the recession of 2008 as her design work and his construction work hit a lull. The Ugly Dog Pub was born from their inspiration and perspiration. Meant at first, to only be a restaurant and pub where locals and tourists could gather for affordable fare, Wednesday night bluegrass became one of the biggest draws in town. National banjo champion, Charles Wood, agreed to provide the band and Nitrograss - in its many different forms - has filled the bill every Wednesday since. Though never constructed as a music venue, the sounds of bluegrass and old-time music have never sounded better than when played by the wonderful musicians who continue to thrill their audience at “the Dog.”
